| Eddie
Crismani and I worked for the same long distance telecommunications company
in the mid- to late-1990s, and we stayed in touch after our occupational
ways parted in late 1998.
Eddie is an ex-pat Australian
with an interesting background, having grown up in an opal mining area
of Oz known as Coober Pedy. If the name sounds familiar to you, it
should: movies such as The Red Planet, Pitch Black, and the Mad Max series
were all filmed in that area.
Eddie and his brother
Michael have two scripts out, one of which - "Coober Pedy", a drama based
on their childhood experiences in Coober Pedy - is making the rounds in
Hollywood at this moment. (Both scripts are registered with the WGA.)
The other script - "Make
the Burning Stop" - is a comedy about two Aussie lads and their escapades
in the States and is being edited to match the requirements of another
studio.
Coober Pedy is good enough
to impress seasoned actor Harv Presnell (Fargo, Saving Private Ryan, The
Legend of Bagger Vance), and Rena Owen (Once Were Warriors, AI, Star Wars).
Good enough to impress
writer, director and producer Leszek Burzynski (Blood Harvest, Trapped
Alive, Cry Wolf, Wooly Boys (Peter Fonda, Kris Kristofferson, Keith Carradine)).
Still to come:
